I'm just annoyed. I'm believe I'm the only one that sticks up for Jaiku at Mashable.com (I'm the one who even added it to the blogging resources, they were only going to mention Twitter), and now I'm annoyed with Jaiku a tad bit now because of the reasons I had been defending it, now are the reasons I might not be liking it. Just not sure what to do. Probably just going to take a bit of a break from Jaiku and try to see if it's right for me when I come back.
-
Oh, I will take myself out of the equation, raise the issue on Mashable.com and let everyone else just know of the potential issues itself. It's just frustrating, because none of this should be an issue. I'm not quick to judge, because I had suggested these things months ago I believe. Nothing is being done.

Then in the future I'd have to try to sort through all those little tiny icons on the right side of my screen to find each channel, and then go back and forth to do that. It's just bad design in my opinion. That would work great, if the channels were not thrown together in the mix with all the friends....
Why isn't my suggestion on tabs or changing colors being put to good use. I'm just so tempted to fire up photoshop and throw some good design ideas your way. It's just like, I've worked with so many developers who put ideas into action immediately, and all this could have been avoided, and it shouldn't be a problem, and now have to disable functionality just to manage viewing this stuff? It's like something Microsoft would say, just disable that, and it'll be fine.

I'd love to create/join a channel on Formula 1, a sport I'm a huge fan of. I'd love to join/create one on the Pittsburgh Steelers, an American football team I follow. I'd love to try and keep track of the Web 2.0 channel I'm in. I just can't, because I know the more channels I add, the more difficult it's going to get. I've talked to a lot of great developers who say I have great ideas, yet Jaiku is the only bunch where none of my suggestions don't even seem to be given serious thought. I'd rather try to talk to Leo personally and call him up and ask his opinions on it instead of writing a story for Mashable, because I know he could give some input.
-
Exactly Andy, and I want to leave the channels I am in. The TWiT channel to me is just a waste of energy, because I have to sort through all that to get to my friends. I told the devs at mashable that this was going to come back to get them, and how the heck are we supposed to deal with this if we have a huge sports channel, then the TWiT channel, then the Web 2.0 channels, with hundreds of posts per day.... How in the heck do we manage that? It's just making me want to write this article even more and more, because I think Jaikus own creation could be their downfall.
-
"Maybe that's because I only really got into it a few days ago." I was the same way when i first started, but now that I've been here awhile, it's just not cool to have to sort through everything.
and no offense Andy, but you don't have barely anything to monitor yet. Try adding 5 popular channels and then keeping up with your few friends, then come back and tell me :)

It is logical, and that's why it makes sense to do it, and that's why I hope there is work in progress. There is just so much potential with Jaiku, as it gets bigger, it's just becoming too much information to search through to find what I want. It just shouldn't be that difficult to add in the functionality to split up the channels and then friends. I'd also love a simple separation between the listing on the friends and channels. Why must I try to find the exact tiny icon to the group I'm in? It should be a section of listing of your friends, and then a section for Channels, both bunched together separately.
-
I'm using a Windows machine unfortunately. Yes, it's a shame that third-party apps have to do this, I'd mainly like to stick to the site. I might have to be forced to try to find an application to download just to manage sifting through all the Jaiku information. It's just too much effort, and should have been handled a long time ago, back when I suggested it. I'm almost tempted to write an article on Mashable about the entire issue, but I will refrain for now in hopes something is done.
Yes, the unsubscribe features were there as well. It's the channels that are ruining it. I just don't feel interested in Jaiku as I once was when I had only a few friends. It's a shame, because I have high hopes for Jaiku.

Yes, but the problem is. Jaiku is becoming so large now, and, like I told you before, the fact that the content isn't separated, like Channels being separated from Friend's Jaiku's, is just such a huge turn off for me now. I predicted this, and it's becoming true. It's just such a shame, because, it's just more of a hassle then fun anymore, and I predicted this would happen for me personally, and it's setting in.
